Vanessa Perroncel Sad John Terry No Longer England CaptainSo Fabio Capello has decided to drop John Terry as England captain for the 2010 World Cup competition in June this year. Does that surprise you? Max Clifford, publicist for Vanessa Perroncel, the woman in the center of John Terry’s trouble said: “Vanessa would also like to add that she finds it very sad that John Terry has been dropped as England captain.” At least one other person is also not happy with this decision. Health minister Mike O’Brien said: “The sacking of Terry is crass. Capello has bowed to tabloid pressure. Infidelity is bad but I saw no signs of fatigue in his football.” Max Clifford said previously that by last weekend the truth would be out. So what happened Max? Well he read a statement from Vanessa Perroncel, which said: ”I have decided I do not want to speak publicly about the speculation since it only seems to add more fuel to the fire. I have a three-year-old son and he is my main concern. I do not believe speaking to newspapers or the media is in his interest or my own. I do not wish to add anything more to what I have said.” Earlier Max Clifford said: “She is going to decide what is in her interests. She is aware of the alternatives. It’s a story that everyone’s talking about and it’s a story that, obviously, all the papers and the television networks are very, very keen to get to the bottom of and find out what the truth is.” At that time, a bidding war had started among the newspapers for her story, with amount of at least £250,000. At the same time John Terry was reportedly trying to buy her silence with a counter bid of as much as £500,000. Now that Vanessa Perroncel has decided to keep her silence, the press is speculating that John Terry could have ante up and paid as much as £800,000 (the figure varies from one newspaper to another) for it. And so it remains for Vanessa Perroncel to just thank Max Clifford. She said: “I would like to put on record my thanks to Max Clifford for his advice and help at this difficult time. The details of my friendship with John and his family have been the subject of intense and wholly unfair and untrue media speculation. As Max has already said, much of the material in the press is inaccurate. I now find myself subject to other unsubstantiated and false claims which have appeared in the papers over the past few days. This has only added to the pressure which my family and I have been under. The media has sought to pore over my private life and that of my family, which is very upsetting.” But what about Toni Poole, the aggrieved wife of John Terry? She has a message of her own to tell the world. She was spotted in Dubai wearing a T-shirt which reads “I love the chaos” on the front and “I hate the confusion” on the back. Now what exactly is Toni trying to say, and to whom? How about this for confusion? Max Clifford said: “There has been no exchange of money between John Terry and Miss Perroncel to my knowledge. I have not been informed. I haven’t been in contact with John Terry, or anyone on his behalf, in the last few days.” That doesn’t sound much like a denial, does it? Hey Max, you don’t need to contact Terry or any of his people for confirmation. Just ask your client, Vanessa Perroncel, to confirm or deny it – simple as that. She must know the answer. And how about this for chaos? One report said that John Terry had also paid 4 secret lovers to keep quiet about their affairs. Secret lovers? Goodness. If these are not already previously mentioned by the press, then John Terry’s bevy of mistresses would have reached 16 and he is fast catching up on Tiger Woods’ bevy of 19. Well at least John Terry has the sympathy of Vanessa Perroncel for losing his England captaincy. How did John Terry himself take it? He said: “I fully respect Fabio Capello’s decision. I will continue to give everything for England.” But then he added: “It hurts so much, but I will fight back. I think I could return as captain once the dust settles and the heat is taken out of the situation. I have fought all my life and I’m not going to stop now. If there’s a one per cent chance of being World Cup captain, I will fight for it tooth and nail. There is every reason for me to fight to get the armband back.” Describing what happened when he met Fabio Capello, John Terry said: ”I was devastated when he said I was losing the job as England captain. I didn’t expect that when I walked in.” And what has Fabio Capello got to say about his decision to sack John Terry as captain? He said: “After much thought, I have made the decision that it will be best for me to take the captaincy away from John Terry. As a captain with the team, John Terry has displayed extremely positive behaviour. However, I have to take into account other considerations and what is best for all of the England squad. What is best for all of the England team has inspired my choice. John Terry was notified first.” And what did Prime Minister Gordon Brown has to say about this? He said: “This decision must be for the manager and Mr Capello has made that decision. I think people will abide by that decision.” Related posts John Terry’s Captaincy – Case of Déjà Vu For Fabio Capello |
