What do you do when someone threatens you with personal harm, injury or death? What if that person also threatens others with mass destruction? Worse still, what if these are not just empty threats, but are promises of sure occurrences to come? Well, you sue him.
That’s what Nebraska state senator Ernie Chambers tried to do. Somewhat offended by what God did in the past and what He promised to do in the future as revealed in the Holy Bible, Senator Ernie Chambers decided to seek an injunction in the US court to restrain God from causing ”death, destruction and terrorisation” against the world. His case is that God had threatened him and the people of Nebraska and had inflicted “widespread death, destruction and terrorisation of millions upon millions of the Earth’s inhabitants”.
But the case against God was thrown out by Judge Marlon Polk on the ground that legal papers cannot be served on the defendant because God has no address. Judge Polk in a written ruling said: “Given that this court finds that there can never be service effectuated on the named defendant this action will be dismissed with prejudice.”
Senator Ernie Chambers may appeal this judgement. He thinks there is ground to appeal. In his view, the judgement acknowledges the existence of God as the defendant in the legal suit, and since the God of the Bible is omniscience, He must know everything, and he reasoned therefore that “God has notice of this lawsuit.”
Think about it. Does Senator Ernie Chambers really think he can win the case against God? Probably not, because he said that the reason for filing this suit is to make the point that “anyone can sue anyone else, even God.” But what if the table is turned on us? What if we have to appear before the court of God as a defendant? Can anyone win a case brought by God who knows everything? Can we have an advocate to plead our case? If so, who can that be? If not, what will happen to us?
GOD will remind him if he died.But he believes there is GOD.the bad thing is he did not respect HIM.this man wants that GOD will be his servant.he wants that GOD will do anything he ask. If GOD take away his life will he sue GOD again for taking away his life?
