These days John Terry has been appearing in news reports for the wrong reason. It seems that John Terry had an affair with Vanessa Perroncel and the British press got wind of it. Terry tried to suppress the publication of the story but Justice Tugendhat did not allow that. So now the whole world has been told of this alleged affair. But how did John Terry answer to his wife Toni Poole? And how did Vanessa Perroncel answer to her best friend, Toni? Did they, or did they not, betray Toni?
Now the British press has come up with more details. Toni Poole reportedly had a screaming phone conversation with Vanessa Perroncel. She demanded that her best friend come clean with her and tell her everything about this affair. One source said: “It was a real shouting match between the two of them. They were both ranting and swearing down the phone. But Vanessa just denied there was an affair.”
News of the World quoted an insider as saying: “John and Vanessa have been extremely cocky. They’re desperately denying everything to Toni. They know they’re walking on a knife-edge, but somehow at the moment, they think they’ve managed to convince her it isn’t true.”
Did Vanessa Perroncel manage to convince Toni that there was no affair? One report says that Toni told Vanessa: ”Call yourself a friend? What sort of friend sleeps with their mate’s husband?” According to another report, Toni said: ”He’s humiliated me for 10 years. But no more. This time I’m going to divorce him.”
And what about Wayne Bridge? Listen to what Vanessa Perroncel said: “Wayne rang me last weekend and started shouting at me and accusing me of having an affair. It was terrible. He was saying horrible things.” She denied having an affair with John Terry but Wayne Bridge “wouldn’t believe me”. Vanessa added: “Wayne was convinced I had been cheating on him because the court action had been taken. It was an agonising call and he was furious.”
So did they, or did they not, have an affair? Well now press reports are saying that soon after the affair started, Vanessa Perroncel became pregnant and John Terry arranged for her to have an abortion.
Reports said that the termination was arranged by Terry and took place at a private clinic under clandestine circumstances. Vanessa Perroncel arrived and left the clinic via a back entrance.
So did they, or did they not have an affair? What about the so-called confidentiality agreement that Terry got Vanessa to sign? According to court documents, there were 2 agreements. The first was a short letter which said: “I agree to keep such information private and confidential” and promising to pass any media inquiries on to one of Terry’s business partners. The second document said she agreed to keep quiet, “in order to assist you in keeping such information confidential and in consideration of £1, receipt of which is hereby acknowledged.” Justice Tugendhat did not think much of these documents, believing that Vanessa could have received much more money than £1 for her silence.
And what about John Terry and Wayne Bridge, ex-Chelsea colleagues, ex-neighbor, current England colleagues? Well they may well become ex-friends. Press reports say that Wayne Bridge may consider removing himself from England international duty, unless England manager Fabio Capello not only strips Terry of the armband, but chops him from the squad altogether.
Think about it. Did John Terry and Vanessa Perroncel have an affair right under the nose of Toni Poole? Did John Terry get Vanessa Perroncel pregnant and then arrange for her to get an abortion? And what is that £1 confidential agreement trying to secure? Does the whole world know something that John Terry and Vanessa Perroncel do not? So it all boils down to this: Did they, or did they not, do it?
