It is said that the word “smiles” is the longest word in the world. There is a mile between the first and last letters of the word. Can smiles be learnt? A CNN report says that Keikyu Railways in Japan thinks so. Taichi Takahashi, its representative, says: “Through repetition and practice, you can create a natural smile.”
But how to practice for that perfect smile? Through a computer software! The company installed a smile software that takes pictures of your smiles and grades them. This way you practice your smiles repeatedly until you get that high grade smile.
To those who say that good service is more important than a smile, Takahashi has this to say:
“Of course good service is the most important. But you can’t give good service with a scary face. The smile affects overall service.”
Think about it. Why shouldn’t you smile? You smile, and your home becomes a place of happiness. You smile, and your colleagues work better. You smile, and your business clients speak well of you, and of course, business increases as a result. You smile, and you bring new life to the discouraged and downcast. So rejoice, and rejoice evermore.
