Robbery Suspects on Google’s Street View

Eversince Google started sending its camera-mounted cars onto the streets, there have been embarrassing moments for some people.  It is said that Google’s street view services have unwittingly caught people visiting adult shops or in company of call girls.

The military too are wary of Google’s street view.  Last year the Pentagon decided enough is enough, and imposed a ban on Google’s street view of its military facilities.

But amid all the chorus of protest against invasion of privacy by Google street view, some good actually came out of it recently.

Last September, a teenager in Amsterdam was riding his bicycle when 2 robbers intercepted him and robbed him of his cell phone and $230 cash. He also lost his bicycle to the thieves.  That was in September last year.

Incredibly, 6 months later in March this year, this 14 year old teenager saw a picture on Google street view of himself on bicycle with the 2 robbers closing in on him. He reported to the police, who were able to arrest the robbers, who are twins.

The twin robbers thought they had made a perfect getaway.  There were apparently no witnesses to their crime.  But they were found out by Google street view.

The Bible has a sentence to describe this:

But if you fail to keep your word, then you will have sinned against the LORD, and you may be sure that your sin will find you out (Num 32:23).

Be sure that your sin will find you out!  Wow, what a scary thought.
