Police Identified First Uploader Of Peterporn Sex Videos
The mystery of why police brought Luna Maya to the Jakarta Police detention center the other day is now solved. Insp. Gen. Edward Aritonang said that Luna Maya was there to meet a man arrested in Bandung, suspected to be the first person to upload the Peterporn sex videos to YouTube. The suspect is a friend of Ariel.
Did Ariel Know That His Friend Is Uploading The Sex Videos?
The question police are trying to answer is whether Nazriel Irham aka Ariel, vocalist from pop band Peterpan, knew that his friend is going to upload the Peterporn sex videos. National Police Chief Comr. Gen. Ito Sumardi said: “The suspect knows Ariel and they are friends.” Then Comr. Gen. Ito Sumardi added: “The investigation is ongoing. We are trying to find out if the sex tapes were spread with Ariel’s knowledge or whether they were distributed without his consent.” And then there is this question: How did this friend get hold of the Peterporn sex videos?

Meanwhile there is still some confusion over whether Luna Maya has been detained by police. Earlier, national Police spokesman Comr. Marwoto Soeto said that Luna Maya “has been detained for being uncooperative during the investigation.” But subsequently Luna Maya’s lawyer, Alfrian Bondjol aka Boy said: “There is no detention and we respect the legal process which is still underway. I have made sure Luna Maya is not detained.” National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Edward Aritonang then confirmed that Luna Maya was not arrested. Then there was a correction by Comr. Marwoto Soeto who said that Luna May was not arrested but was only interrogated and being held for her own protection.
All this sounds rather confusing. Does being held for her own protection mean that Luna Maya is not detained? Is she in fact freely roaming the streets now, or in protective custody of the police? Isn’t being in protective custody the same as being detained?
Since being named by police as a suspect, Luna Maya has lost another commercial deal. Harsiwi Achmad, RCTI’s director of programming said: “Since Luna Maya has been named a suspect, RCTI decided to honorably dismiss her as host of the ‘Dahsyat’ music program. We will remove all ‘Dahsyat’ banners with her image.” Astrid Tiar, temporary replacement for Luna Maya since June 8, will now become the permanent host of Dahsyat.
Earlier, within a week of the Peterporn sex video scandal happening, PT Unilever Indonesia said that Luna Maya “had resigned from her position as Lux beauty soap ambassador.”
Cut Tari
Cut Tari is now in great demand by the international media. Following her confession that she was indeed the person shown in 1 of the 3 Peterporn sex videos having sex with Ariel, Cut Tari has received several requests for interviews from the international media. But why the international interest? Hotman Paris Hutapea, lawyer for Cut Tari said: “Probably because the news regarding the case has spread across the globe.”
What is Cut Tari stand on granting interviews to the international media? Hotman Paris Hutapea said: “From the bottom of her heart, Cut Tari feels sorry to reject the requests. She doesn’t want to show off on TV.”
With Ariel under detention, and Luna Maya probably under police custody, Cut Tari is now the only one still free, although she has been named a suspect. Police said earlier that Cut Tari could be placed under home or city detention.
Think About It
With Cut Tari having admitted her role in the Peterporn sex videos saga, the net seems to be closing in on Ariel and Luna Maya now. And with the arrest of the alleged first uploader of the Peterporn sex videos, the pieces needed for a successful prosecution of the suspects in this case may just have fallen into place. At the end of it all, the question remain. Why do people take pleasure in taking video clips of their own sexual acts? And why would a friend want to upload such a sex video to YouTube, with or without permission? And finally, why would the global community take pleasure in downloading and watching these sex videos? And in relation to Ariel, Luna Maya and Cut Tari, their careers will probably be ruined, so is it worth it?
