What is happening now to Manohara Odelia Pinot, the teenage Indonesian model who met her prince at the tender age of 15, got married at 16 and and 3 years later made a dramatic escape from husband Tengku Muhammad Fakhry Sultan Ismail Petra, claiming to be a victim of sexual, physical and mental abuses? Tengku Muhammad Fakhry Sultan Ismail Petra subsequently obtained summary judgments from the Syariah High Court for Manohara Odelia Pinot to be loyal and return to him money given to her as loans. Both Manohara Odelia Pinot and her mother Daisy Fajarina were also ordered by the Malaysian High Court through summary judgment to pay damages for defaming Tengku Muhammad Fakhry Sultan Ismail Petra. But Manohara Odelia Pinot and Daisy Fajarina have refused to acknowledge the judgments against them, and refused to return to Malaysia. It seems that Tengku Muhammad Fakhry Sultan Ismail Petra is now too busy with the succession problems within the Kelantan royal household to pursue Manohara Odelia Pinot, who in the meantime has embarked on a new career, and on a new venture.
New Career
Manohara Odelia Pinot has been appointed the tourism ambassador for Kendari in the Southeast Sulawesi province of Indonesia. How did she get to be appointed as such? Afterall, Manohara Odelia Pinot is not from Kendari, or for that matter, from Southeast Sulawesi? Manohara Odelia Pinot explains: “The governor of Southeast Sulawesi asked me, in person, to become Kendari’s icon. I thought, what an interesting job.”
But that’s not the only role that Manohara Odelia Pinot is playing for Southeast Sulawesi province. Governor Nur Alam of Southeast Sulawesi has also concurrently appointed Manohara Odelia Pinot as Southeast Sulawesi’s ambassador for traditional woven cloths.
As tourism ambassador for Kendari, Manohara Odelia Pinot is responsible for promoting Kendari as a tourist destination while her other duty is to promote Southeast Sulawesi’s woven textile heritage.
New Look
Manohara Odelia Pinot has a new look, one befitting her new role as tourism ambassador of Kendari and Southeast Sulawesi’s ambassador for traditional woven cloths. In the last 3 months, she has shed 10 kg, Now weighing 55 kg, she hopes to lose more weight, with the aim to return to modeling soon. Manohara Odelia Pinot said: “I’ve been working hard to lose weight. I love my new look, it’s more attractive. I feel more confident now.”
Now that she has shed those inches off her waistline, Manohara Odelia Pinot intends to stay that way. Referring to her old clothes, Manohara Odelia Pinot said: “I can’t wear them anymore.” So now Manohara Odelia Pinot has a new wardrobe as well.
New Venture
Manohara Odelia Pinot is about to become an entrepreneur. She said: “I’m starting my own cosmetic brand, which includes face powder, day cream and night cream.” And what will this new cosmestic brand be called? What else, but “Manohara”. The products are still in production and should be available soon.
But what is so special about this Manohara brand of cosmestic? Manohara Odelia Pinot explains: “I’m involved in the whole production process — because I want to make sure my products are free from mercury and other dangerous substances.”
But why start a new venture now? Manohara Odelia Pinot said: “I haven’t been offered any acting jobs yet.” So she is in between acting jobs at the moment, with time to spare to start a new venture.
Think About It
Manohara Odelia Pinot has outstanding court judgments against her involving large sums of money owing to her estranged husband Tengku Muhammad Fakhry Sultan Ismail Petra. Although Manohara Odelia Pinot is now in Indonesia and therefore out of jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts, Tengku Muhammad Fakhry Sultan Ismail Petra did say that he intends to pursue the enforcement of the Malaysian judgments on her. How will this threat impact upon the success of Manohara Odelia Pinot’s new career/venture?
