German Muslim Woman Turns Apostate

Recently women MPs in Kuwait won the right not to wear the Muslim headscarf in Parliament.  In many western countries, freedom of dressing for women is a given.  But for many Muslim women, they have a dress code to observe.

Qory Sandioriva, the current Miss Indonesia (Putri Indonesia) 2009 caused some disquiet when she did not wear a Muslim headscarf for the contest, despite being the representative of Aceh province, a predominantly Muslim area.

These women are not alone in wanting to have freedom from the strict Islamic dress code.  Now on YouTube there is a video of a 23-year old German Muslim by the name of Beteul whose parent came from Turkey.

In this YouTube video, Beteul tells of her struggle, torn between the pull of this world, and the demands of being a Muslim.  Finally she made a decision, and is now enjoying her new found freedom.  And no, she did not convert to another religion.  She merely decided to leave the Islamic faith.

Watch this video for her story.
