Victim Of Unscrupulous Person
Throughout history, girls have been tricked and forced into prostitution. But what makes the news of a 19-year old teenage girl in Malaysia being forced into prostitution stand out are 2 things. First, the teenager is described as “disabled”. Secondly, the person who picked her as a victim is a transvestite. So how did this disabled teenage girl become a victim of this unscrupulous person?
Chanced Meeting Led To Nightmare For Disabled Teenager
What disablement is the teenager sufferring from? From the circumstances of the case, it is clear that she could move around on her own. So mobility is not a problem for her, especially since she is able to engage in sexual activity. Actually the girl is suffering from mental retardation.
On March 3 this year, the girl met this 29-year old person by chance. The person is actually a transvestite who quickly realized that this girl is mentally challenged. So he devised a plan to take advantage of this innocent girl.
The Plan
To gain the teenage girl’s trust, the transvestite started by buying her some new clothes. This was followed by sweet talking and polite attitude. Then the transvestite persuaded the teenage girl to stay with him in his house. The girl obviously trusted her new found friend, and agreed to go to the house of the transvestite. And that was a mistake.
The Transvestite Became Her Pimp
As soon as the teenage girl arrived at the house of the transvestite, she was forcibly abducted and locked in the house. Then the transvestite began to bring men to have sex with the teenage girl. The girl was assualted if she refused to have sex with the clients.
And how much did the transvestite make out this the misery of this teenage girl? District police chief Assistant Commissioner Ibrahim Mohd Aris said: “The suspect also assaulted and threatened the victim against leaving the house. The suspect charged his clients RM100 ($43.25) for each session with the victim.” Very soon, this teenage girl was making more than RM2,000 per month through sexual encounters.
The Rescue
When the girl disappeared, her parents immediately made a police report. Soon the family received a tip-off about the girl’s whereabout. A cousin then disguised himself as a customer seeking sexual pleasure. As it turned out, the transvestite who was the girl’s pimp brought the cousin to the house. There the cousin saw the girl locked up in the house. He then informed the family, and followed up with a police report.
Assistant Commissioner Ibrahim Mohd Aris said: ”On April 11, the girl’s brother received information that his sister was being held at the house in Taman Soga and immediately informed the police. We found the victim alone in the house and immediately sent her to the Batu Pahat Hospital for a check-up. We arrested the suspect on the same day at the Senggarang police station when he tried to lodge a police report alleging that the victim’s brother had assaulted him.”
Assistant Commissioner Ibrahim Mohd Aris added: ”Initial investigations showed that the suspect had previously been convicted for possession of obscene materials.” Indeed police found about 20 pornographic video clips on the transvestite’s handphone.
The Charge
Assistant Commissioner Ibrahim Mohd Aris said: ”He is also currently on trial on two separate counts of voluntarily causing grievous hurt and voluntarily causing grievous hurt with a dangerous weapon.”
Police also found RM2,247 cash and several used condoms at the house. The money is believed to be the proceeds from prostitution.
A Similar Case In Florida, USA
This Malaysian case is very similar to another case in Florida, USA. This week, 23-year old Mario Albert Laguna-Guerro was arrested and charged with pimping for a 17-year old mentally disabled teenage prostitute.
Mario Albert Laguna-Guerro would drive the girl to various locations where she would be expected to have sex with paying clients. Apparently she serviced up to 8 clients each day. Police also charged that Mario Albert Laguna-Guerro raped a 19-year old classmate of this teenage girl as well.
Mario Albert Laguna-Guerro has been arrested and charged with (1) sexual battery, (2) procuring a minor for prostitution, and (3) deriving support from prostitution proceeds.
Think About It
What is the world coming to? Shouldn’t the mentally retarded disabled people deserve our respect and protection? Why allow unscrupulous people to forced them into prostitution? Not all victims are fortunate to be rescued. But then again, the flesh trade can only prosper if there is a demand for sex. And it seems demand will always be there.
