This is no more than the usual innuendo. Mr Megrahi is not guilty of and had no connection with the Lockerbie bombing in anyway and was imprisoned on a conclusion drawn from three planted facts all of which has been severely criticised so that even that most cautious of institutions the SCCRC has said there may have been a miscarriage of justice, a statement so understated its rather like the famous statement of the Emperor Hirohito to the Japanese people that events in WWII were not turning out to be to Japan’s advantage. Megrahi was framed.

The fact that the Libyan agent accused of bombing Pan Am 103 is still alive does not prove that the original prognosis was wrong. THere are many cases where people have survicved a terminal disease, so why scrutinize this case?

Moreover, the relatives and loved ones of Pan Am 103 victims have already been generously compensated by Libya and received $10 million each and, therefore, cannot complain and have no more claims against the accused. The Iranian Airliner shot down by American war ships in the Arabian Gulf was never treated in a similar manner as the Pan Am 103 case even though it was clear who committed the first but not known for certain who committed the latter.

We can also argue the many cases of American soldiers as well as Blackwater mercenaries who have murdered Iraqi civilians including entire families in cold blood and have not been punished for their crimes..

THe obvious extreme bias against Muslims and double standards practiced by Western media and analysts stinks.

This post is skewed towards defending the decisions of the Syariah Court. I think some credit should go to P. Gunasegaram for bringing out the slippery slope argument- it is true that over the years it might escalate to a point where physical punishment be given out on unallowed behaviour. Our actions should reflect personal conduct and individual choice, rather than for it to be forced upon us out of the lack of choices.

It is a simple case of a a person going to a foreign land and expecting that because it says on the Tin Islamic country everything will work according to teh beautifull principles of Islam. Unfortunately it doesn’t just as in every country of the world there is the Law and then there are the Asses who mess about with it.

As sir muhamamd Iqbal said

If we are to say that Islam is the superior set of Morals and values we first have to conceed that we ( muslim community) are not its true representatives!

So please remember that including the woman in question, Judge Men by Islam not Islam by the actions of man.

I worked with this lady in Riyadh. She was a very pleasant and congenial individual although she took the religious stuff too far for my taste. One can’t help feeling though that had she not gotten into this whole conversion business (and to Islam and its Saudi version of all things!!), none of this would’ve happened. Heaven knows there have been dozens of high profile cases of Western women getting the short end of the stick after marrying Middle Eastern Muslims men, getting themselves and/or their kids kidnapped and worse.

Well, this John Terry sex scandal is really unfortunate. Perhaps, Toni should move over to Wayne and Vanessa stays with Terry! (Funny isn’t it?). Why do we men allow our ‘thing’ to rule our brains?. I guess Terry should do the Honourable thing by resigning his position in the England team and Chelsea should also take the captaincy badge away from him. Most importantly, he needs to apologize to Wayne and his embarassed wife.
