I love chocolates, but I don’t like the mess when they melt in the hot sun. I also don’t like the high calories they contain. Years ago, M&M’s came up with a wonderful slogan – Melts in your mouth, not in your hand. That’s somewhat reassuring. But what if your hand is in the hot sun?
So when I read that Barry Callebaut of Switzerland is coming up with a new chocolate product called “Volcano”, it got my immediate attention. The AFP report says that Volcano will not melt up to 55 degree Centigrade (131 degree Fahrenheit). Unless you live in a desert, this is just right for most countries.
But that’s not all. Valcono chocolates melt on contact with saliva and has a “crunchy” texture. Moreover, the calories count is said to be lower than other chocolate products.
So there you have it, a potentially good product – good for health (low calories), good for taste (melts in contact with saliva), and good for keeping (heat resistant).
I read another article recently. It is entitled “One of the biggest lies in advertising”. In it the author said that many advertisements are guilty of telling this lie. What is this lie? It is this claim: “If So-and-So can do it, so can you”. Whether this advertisement tagline is used by a weight loss company, a MLM company, or an investment company, it is a lie simply because if someone else can do it, it doesn’t mean you can repeat that person’s success.
If only we can take a person’s word at face value. Can we find such a super honest person? One whose words we will gladly taste, because these words are good for our health and are long lasting? Because what he says is simply truth. Reminds me of a poem:
More to be desired are they than gold,
Yea, than much fine gold:
Sweeter also than honey
And the honeycomb.
Such a person’s words will be like chocolates that melts in your mouth, not in the sun, because his words can stand the heat of scrutiny and won’t be found wanting. Are we looking for a superman?
